Wednesday 30th October and Saturday 2nd November
Valletta Half Day
The excursion will take place on Wednesday morning before the event starts and again Saturday morning after the event ends.
Leaving the hotel on foot at 0930hrs accompanied by an English speaking guide you will make your way to Valletta, the Maltese Capital, built in the 16th Century by the Knights of the Order of St John and bearing the name of the Knight who led it’s construction, Jean de La Valette.
After visiting the Upper Barrakka Gardens with a view over the Grand Harbour, the tour will continue with a visit to the “Malta 5D” Audio-Visual show, a 16-minute journey through the history of the Islands. Following that the participants will make their way down to St John’s Co-Cathedral where they will have the opportunity of visiting the famous painting “The Beheading of St John” painted by Michelangelo Caravaggio.
No visit to Valletta is complete without some free time to take in the local culture and enjoy a coffee at one of the many cafes in the city before returning back to the hotel.
