Mr. Tim Heijmann

Managing Director, SkyfloX

Tim Heijmann is the Managing Director of the European Space Agency (ESA) spin-off company SkyfloX. SkyfloX develops an ESA patented concept that proposes to use airliners for Earth observation and telecommunications, by installing sensors/equipment below the aircraft. Such a system results in high quality and frequent Earth observation data, which, for example, is used to detect forest fires or monitor air pollution, and provides an ancillary revenue source for airlines as well as significant PR value: allowing airlines to become an active participant in climate monitoring solutions. Tim has a double master degree in International Management, studied Entrepreneurial Finance and Management at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and has worked for various ESA supported start-ups commercialising space technologies.
