With her over 20 years of experience in aviation, Cate Bichara brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in many areas such as operations, international and national regulations, safety, international affairs, social dialogue and human capacity together with transversal skills. Having headed up projects on the changing skill requirements in our heavily regulated industry, Cate has led cutting-edge research on the changing competencies required for tomorrow’s ever-changing technological landscape, whilst including safety and compliance. She combines this with her expertise and knowledge in transversal skills and workplace culture to support the industry in identifying human capacity and skills requirements, through her work with such initiatives as NGAP and GAAST, amongst others. Having chaired the ATM Partners for Just Culture initiative and co-chaired the European Commission High Level Declaration on Just Culture, as well as her other activities in the field of aviation safety, Cate is able to make the link between these diverse areas of aviation and bring them together in a coherent whole. Cate holds a Master’s in Social and Educational Sciences from Lausanne University as well as further university certifications, from Lausanne, Geneva and the Swiss Federal institute of Technology (EPFL), in the fields of management, leadership and diversity. She is guest lecturer at the University of Geneva and an Ambassador for Diversity in Transport for DG MOVE.
