Jana is a lecturer at MCAST, where she teaches Level 3 and Level 4 students working towards their CAT B license and diploma in aircraft structures, covering both theoretical and practical subjects. Alongside her teaching duties, she oversees students during their placements at various MROs, ensuring they acquire valuable hands-on experience in the industry.
Her aviation career began 13 years ago as a student at MCAST, followed by an apprenticeship program where she spent time at several aviation organizations, including MEDAVIA, AFM, and primarily SRT as an aircraft technician trainee. Building on this foundation, she advanced to a full-time aircraft technician position at Maintenance Centre Malta, where she earned her CAT B license and was later promoted to deputy supervisor.
Now, as an educator, she focuses on sharing her extensive industry experience to prepare the next generation of aircraft technicians. Her teaching emphasizes not only technical proficiency but also the importance of soft skills and a strong commitment to aviation safety. As a proud member of the Women in Aviation Malta (WIAM) family for over two years, she is passionate about addressing the gender imbalance in the field and hopes to inspire more women to pursue careers in aviation.
